CAT 2019
Top MBA colleges will announce its cut off at the earliest, for short listing aspirants for the selection process separately.
Candidates must cross the overall cut off to be able to apply for subsequent rounds. The overall cut off for IlMs usually falls between 90-99 percentiles. Ahmadabad, Bangalore and Calcutta are top 3 IIMs having their cut off set at 99+ percentile, whereas for FMS, JBIMS and SPIJMR it is 95+ percentile.

- There will be no age restriction for taking the CAT examination.
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s or its equivalent degree.
- Pass the above exam with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA with 145% marks for SC/ST categories.
- Candidates appearing the final year of their bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination.
+ - Candidates appeared for an equivalent examination recognized by the MHRD, Government of India [AMICE of the Institution of Civil Engineers ‘India)can also apply.
Questions asked in the exam are up to 10+2 levels that cover section-wise sub-topics topics, reading and verbal reasoning, antonyms and synonyms, analogies and reverse analogies, sentence correction, facts inference, judgments and comprehension.

Written Ability Test (WAT)
The (WAT) has students writing an essay on the topic provided by the institute.
The topic can be related to socio-political issues, current affairs or some idea. The essay should generally be completed within 30 minutes.
Group Discussion (GD)
For the GD round, applicants are divided into groups of 8-10 members wherein, they are required to discuss about the given topic.
Personal Interview (PI)
PI is the final round wherein aspirants are interviewed by a panel of 4-8 judges. This panel assesses the profile of individuals to see if he is fit for the chosen course
Each round is conducted in the institute itself, where, later the full and final merit list is published.
- Mode – Computer Based Test (CBT).
- MBA Duration – 2 sessions, 180 minutes (3 hours).
- Type – Objective and subjective.
- No. of Qs – 100.
- Marks – 3 for the correct answer, negative marking for MCQs.

- Less than 25 years old.
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s or its equivalent degree.
- Candidates appearing in the final examination of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
- International applicants with 2+ years of experience post graduation are preferred. (Admission is subject to visa clearance).
- Minimum aggregate score of 50% in qualifying examination in the 1st attempt itself.

- Most B-schools conduct the process at their campuses with few of them conducting the process out-of-campus, mid-city, for the convenience of students.
- The CD and PIare carried out to gauge the applicant’s knowledge on diverse topics, confidence, and ability to perform under pressure, amongst other factors.
- CD is carried out for about 15-20 minutes.
- Selected candidates from the Case Discussion round are then qualified for a PI with the concerned person.
- Mode – Computer Based Test (CBT).
- MBA Course Duration –120 minutes (2 hours).
- Type – MCQs.
- Sections – 3 (Language + Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning).
- Total Marks – 120 for each section = 360 total marks (1 for each question with no negative marking).
